Documentary and commercial photographer, Aaron Patton, bringing editorial standards to executive headshots. Published in People, The Guardian, and trusted by Fortune 500 brands.

Aaron Patton has created thousands of headshots since founding The Headshot Studio in Wichita, KS, in 2015, but outside of that he is a commercial and editorial portrait photographer working for brands from TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé to People Magazine. With THS, he brings that experience to Wichita’s business community, offering national-level portraiture without the flight to LA or New York.
He believes in embracing the things that are unique to each person; celebrating difference over sameness. If he has one true specialty, it’s working with clients who are introverts and anyone nervous about being in front of the camera.

Thousand of headshots have taught me a lot over the years, and I’ve put that back into my unique headshot process. Not only do I direct you like I would a magazine shoot, you get to see the results in real time. No online galleries to mess with, quick turnarounds, and – best of all – you know you’re getting great images: you picked them already.
Every great portrait starts with understanding your goals. When you arrive, we’ll spend some time nailing those down and planning your session accordingly.
Precise lighting, expert direction, and space to just be you. Your headshots are at their best when they feel like you, not a version of you that fits a mold.
We review the images as we shoot to be sure we’re hitting the mark. I’ll guide you through selecting your best images, referring frequently back to the goals we talked about at the start.
The best retouching is invisible – you just look like you. Every selected image gets a meticulous retouch to give them a natural polish without looking filtered.
Of course. We can accommodate up to 60 people a day at your location while still doing a version of the headshot process I’ve created here and giving everyone the chance to choose their own image.

I don’t believe in most of the dos and don’ts in typical headshot wardrobe guides. The most important thing is that you wear what suits you. If you feel like you, you’ll look like you – I can work with that.
As many as you’d like, but 1-3 is a safe bet. I plan for about half an hour per outfit. More than that and it’s best to book another shoot where you can do your hair/makeup differently.
I’m happy to refer you to my favorite stylists/makeup artists, but in the interest of keeping my schedule as available as possible, I don’t offer hair and makeup in-studio for headshots.
I’m a closet introvert myself; I get it! This isn’t something that people like us are lining up to do. Still, the number one thing I hear as people are leaving my studio is a toss-up between, “That was painless!” and “Wow, that was much easier than expected.”
My approach to headshots is always to meet you where you are and go forward from there. You’re in great hands.
Direction is at the core of a great headshot. I work with each client where they’re at, so if you’ve got no idea what to do with your hands, I’ll direct every step of the way. If you’re frequently in front of the camera, I’ll give you space to do your thing and give notes along the way. You’ll never be hung out to dry.
The Headshot Studio is located at 2724 E. Central, Ste 300 in Wichita, KS. It’s just west of Central and Hillside on the north side of the street across from Itzcali and Revolutsia – the building is pink; you can’t miss it. Parking is in the back!
You’ll get a full usage license to use your photos for pretty much anything. The only exceptions are book covers, album covers, national advertising, and broadcast use, which may require additional licensing. Otherwise, you’re welcome to use them for personal, social, commercial, and self-promotional purposes to your heart’s content.
